Meghalaya aims to achieve a USD 16 billion economy by 2032, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said on Friday, outlining the state’s long-term economic vision.

Speaking at the Independence Day event, Sangma said the state plans to reach a USD 100 billion economy by 2047, coinciding with India’s 100th year of independence. The roadmap also includes positioning Meghalaya among the top 10 states in per capita income and meeting Sustainable Development Goals.

The Chief Minister noted progress in law and order, citing developments in the Assam-Meghalaya border settlement, the implementation of e-Sakshya and e-FIR systems, and the expansion of forensic facilities.
