Shillong, Jun 2: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday attended the send-off ceremony for the state’s Under-20 Boys’ Football Team, who are set to participate in the Elite Training Camp at the Olympique Lyonnais Training Academy in Lyon, France.

Taking to social media, Sangma highlighted the significance of this international exposure for the young athletes, calling it a “doorway to a world of learning, discipline, and excellence.” He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting young sporting talent and creating global opportunities for their growth.

“Carry with you the values, spirit, dreams, and pride of our state. Return not just as better players, but as true ambassadors of Meghalaya and India,” Sangma told the team.

The camp is expected to provide high-quality training and international exposure to the players, enhancing their skills and preparing them for higher levels of competition.
