Aizawl, Oct 28: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Monday chaired the third online meeting of the High-Level Task Force on the North East Economic Corridor.
During the meeting, Planning Department Secretary Lalmalsawma Pachuau presented a detailed summary of the key points discussed and the progress achieved in previous sessions of the Task Force.
The discussions focused on several major areas, including the establishment of connectivity corridors between Bangladesh and the North Eastern states, strengthening of the India–Myanmar–Thailand transport corridor, and developing Guwahati as a central hub with improved helicopter connectivity across the region.
Other key topics included enhancing inland waterways and railway networks, exploring electric train services to reduce travel costs, expanding internet services, modernizing border trade infrastructure, and promoting better branding and marketing of products from the North East.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for DoNER Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and ministers from member states. The participants agreed to finalize the Task Force’s final report soon.
