Aizawl, Feb 11: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma will present the state budget for 2026-27 on February 26, Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama announced on Tuesday. The budget will also include supplementary grants for 2025-26.
This will be the third budget under Lalduhoma’s leadership since the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) came to power in December 2023. Lalduhoma, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will table the budget during a month-long budget session scheduled from February 17 to March 16, comprising 17 sittings.
Governor VK Singh will deliver the customary address on the opening day, followed by an obituary tribute to former legislator KL Rochama on February 18.
During Question Hour, the assembly will take up 946 starred questions for oral replies and 339 unstarred questions for written responses. The session will also consider three amendment bills, including the Mizo Marriage, Divorce and Inheritance Property (Amendment) Bill and the Mizoram Local Bodies (Amendment) Bill.
This session marks the sixth sitting of the ninth Mizoram Legislative Assembly.
