Aizawl, April 22: Mizoram Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar announced that a joint inspection of the Tuirial Airfield was carried out this morning under the leadership of Chief Minister Lalduhoma. The visit focused on exploring ways to utilize the old airfield area more effectively, with particular attention to the needs of the Sports & Youth Services, Tourism, and Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare departments.
During the inspection, the team also examined land within the Tuirial Airfield premises that is scheduled to be vacated by the Border Security Force (BSF). The review underscored the government’s intent to repurpose the site for developmental initiatives that could benefit multiple sectors and strengthen infrastructure for public use.
The inspection reflects the state’s broader vision of optimizing existing assets to support youth engagement, tourism growth, and agricultural advancement, aligning with Mizoram’s long-term developmental priorities.
