Aizawl, May 27: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has urged the Central government to raise the number of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the state by 1.7 lakh.
According to an official statement, the chief minister made the appeal during a meeting with Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi on Monday.
Lalduhoma informed the Union minister that only 60.26 per cent of ration card holders in Mizoram are currently covered under NFSA. He requested an additional allocation to ensure more households in the state benefit from the scheme.
