Mizoram Government Making Efforts To Implement Protected Area Regime

Aizawl, Dec 21: The Mizoram government is taking steps to implement the Protected Area Regime (PAR) in the state, following a directive from the Centre to reinstate the policy after a 13-year relaxation.

Mizoram Home Secretary Vanlalmawia confirmed on Friday that the state received the official notification from the Centre regarding the reimposition of PAR on Thursday. In response, the state government has started preparations, including training officials at the Foreigner Registration Office on the new procedures, such as issuing permits through an e-portal.

Training sessions were conducted on Thursday and Friday to ensure the smooth reimplementation of the Protected Area Regime across the state.
