Aizawl, Jan 9: Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte, a recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025, was felicitated by Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh at Lok Bhavan in Aizawl on Thursday.

During the felicitation programme, the Governor congratulated Esther on her achievement and said her success brought pride to Mizoram and the country. He encouraged her to continue disciplined training and work towards higher levels of excellence, stating that her journey serves as an inspiration for young talents across India.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, recognises exceptional achievements by children aged between 5 and 18 years in seven categories Bravery, Art and Culture, Environment, Innovation, Social Service, Science and Technology, and Sports.

In 2025, 20 children from 18 states and Union Territories were selected for the award. Esther Hnamte was honoured in the Art and Culture category. She received the award from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on December 26, 2025.
