Aizawl, May 26: Mizoram Governor and Chief Rector of Mizoram University, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), released three books authored by Prof. Laltluangliana Khiangte, Dean of the School of Humanities and Languages, Mizoram University. The books Anti-Colonial Chieftainess: Lalnu Ropuiliani, Indigenous Tribal Warrior: Pasaltha Khuangchera, and Anti-Colonial Hero: Mizo Lal Zakapa were launched at the Seminar Hall of the Academic & Seminar Complex, Mizoram University.

The Governor appreciated the author’s efforts in highlighting key figures of Mizo history and culture. He praised Prof. Khiangte’s national recognitions, including the Padma Shri (2006), Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2018), and Rashtriya Lok Bhasha Samman (2003), as recognition of his contribution to Indian arts and heritage.
General Singh highlighted the bravery of the three historical figures in resisting colonial rule and stressed the importance of preserving indigenous history from a cultural perspective. He urged scholars to continue documenting local histories for future generations.

The event included a welcome address by Mizoram University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, a speech by the author, and reviews of the books by Dr. Samuel L. Chuaungo, Dr. R. Zothanliana, and Dr. H. Laldinmawia. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by LTL Fela.
