V Zirsanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Mizoram’s Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and leader of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), resigned on Thursday ahead of a scheduled floor test.

The session was convened following a Gauhati High Court directive asking him to prove his majority. Officials said Zirsanga tendered his resignation minutes before the proceedings began, leading to the House being adjourned sine die.
