In compliance with Section 47 of the Mizoram Lokayukta Act, 2014, Lalmalsawma, Chairperson of the Mizoram Lokayukta, today presented the Sixth Annual Report for the period 2024-2025 to General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), Governor of Mizoram. Covering April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, the report is scheduled to be tabled in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.
During the meeting, Chairperson Lalmalsawma, accompanied by Members Lalsanglura and Joel Joseph Denga (Judicial Member), briefed the Governor on the Lokayukta’s overall status, key activities, future plans, case handling, disciplinary actions, current progress, and expected outcomes. The Governor commended their efforts and urged them to intensify their work going forward.
The Sixth Annual Report notes that 20 corruption-related complaints were registered during 2024-2025. Of these, six were referred for preliminary inquiry. Over the period, eight preliminary inquiry reports were received, five cases were disposed of, and two persons were convicted in one case.
Since its establishment in March 2019, the Mizoram Lokayukta has registered 91 corruption cases as of January 8, 2026. Of these, 58 have been disposed of, with 33 remaining under preliminary inquiry and investigation.

Complainants wishing to remain anonymous will have their identities protected, provided they include contact details for follow-up by the Mizoram Lokayukta.
