Mizoram: Lunglei DC Felicitates Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardee Esther Hnamte

Aizawl, Dec 30: Lunglei District Deputy Commissioner Navneet Mann today felicitated Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte of Lunglei College Veng, recipient of the “Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025”, at her office chamber and presented her with a token of appreciation.

Esther Hnamte was conferred the country’s highest civilian award for children (below 18 years of age) by the President of India on 26 December 2025. The felicitation programme, organised by the Lunglei DC’s Office, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rochuangkimi Khenglawt and Sub-Deputy Commissioner Lalhlimpuii Pachuau. Esther was accompanied by her mother, R. Lalawmpuii, and other family members.

As part of the honour, the Deputy Commissioner presented Esther with a Certificate of Honour along with a cash award of ₹10,000. Congratulating her on the achievement, Navneet Mann said that Esther has brought laurels to Lunglei district and the state of Mizoram. She commended Esther’s contribution to promoting unity and harmony through music, describing the national recognition as well-deserved, and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence in both academics and music.

Expressing gratitude, Esther’s mother, R. Lalawmpuii, thanked all those who supported and guided Esther in her journey. She also acknowledged the Lunglei District Administration for its timely recommendation for the award and for the continued support extended after the honour was conferred.

The District Administration also invited Esther Hnamte to perform at the Lunglei District Republic Day celebrations 2026, to which she agreed, subject to there being no unforeseen constraints.
