As part of the nation-wide celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel under the “Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat)” initiative, a “Sardar @150 Unity Campaign” Unity Walk was organised today in Siaha at 9:30 AM. Government officials and around 200 students from various Schools actively participated in the event.
The unity walk commenced from Vaihpi Field, led by N. Rosaline, with Vanlalchhuanliana, SDO (S), serving as the chief guest. In his address, the chief guest emphasized the importance of preserving national unity in both educational institutions and workplaces. He stated that without unity, India cannot achieve its developmental aspirations, especially the vision of Vikshit Bharat 2047. He also highlighted the immense contributions and sacrifices of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and other national leaders who laid the foundation of India’s unity.
At Vaihpi Field, Lalnunhlua, SDPO, addressed the gathering, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Participants then took pledges for Atmanirbhar Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat. The unity walk was flagged off by Vanlalchhuanliana, SDO (S) and proceeded from Vaihpi Field to Government Higher Secondary School, New Siaha.
A concluding program was held at the school, with N. Zakhai, Adviser to CEM, MADC, gracing the event as chief guest. In his speech, he encouraged students to remain committed to their nation and community. He also reminded them that rapid global development brings several challenges particularly the misuse of technology and urged them to stay alert and responsible. He praised the participating students for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to become agents of progress and harmony.
As part of the Sardar @150 campaign, additional activities such as a Social Media Reel Contest, Essay Writing Competition, and Quiz Competition are being organised. Interested participants may register through the MY Bharat Portal.
Today’s program was attended by Manjeet Singh Sankhla, Superintendent of Police, Siaha; T. Chatlua, ADPC (Samagra); DEO staff; and members of the MJA. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Lalrengpuii Ralte, CMO, Siaha.
