The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, completed two years in office on December 8, 2025, with notable progress across several sectors in Mizoram.
Strong anti-smuggling measures led to the seizure of narcotics worth over Rs 318 crore, including heroin and methamphetamine, alongside Burmese areca nuts valued at Rs 35 crore. Authorities also confiscated 54 firearms and more than 28,000 rounds of ammunition.
In agriculture, the government procured 3,386 quintals of fresh ginger, providing Rs 137.72 crore under the ‘Bana Kaih’ handholding programme. Additional purchases included 48,602 quintals of dried broomsticks worth nearly Rs 2 crore and 1,473 quintals of paddy. The scheme supported 702 beneficiaries with loans, while 2,258 others received aid under special packages. Nearly 37,000 people benefited from housing support under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
Urban development plans include a peace city in Thenzawl, Serchhip district, with Rs 10 crore sanctioned by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Healthcare initiatives saw over 54,000 beneficiaries receive cashless treatment under the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme, with Rs 84 crore disbursed for medical reimbursements.
Tourism also witnessed substantial growth, with 5.2 lakh visitors in 2024-25, a 138.5% increase from the previous year. Mizoram was officially declared fully literate in 2025, marking a significant social milestone.
