Agartala, May 29, 2026: With the objective of strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party at the grassroots level and working in close coordination with party workers, Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy on Friday formally assumed charge as the new State President of the BJP in Tripura.

A formal ceremony was held at the State BJP headquarters where Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha handed over the organizational responsibility to Debroy in the presence of outgoing State BJP President and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee along with senior party leaders and workers.

After assuming charge, Abhishek Debroy addressed the media and outlined his priorities as the new State President. He stated that his principal objective would be to spread the ideology and core principles of the Bharatiya Janata Party to the grassroots level while maintaining close coordination with party workers across the state.

Debroy said he would work tirelessly to further strengthen the party organization and ensure that the BJP’s ideals and objectives reach every section of society. Referring to himself as a youth leader, he emphasized the need for unity within the organization and affirmed his commitment to public welfare. He also stated that he would continue to guide younger workers while showing due respect to senior leaders of the party.

Speaking about the challenges ahead, Debroy remarked that he currently does not foresee any major obstacles in discharging his responsibilities as State President. He said that even before taking up the new role, he had been serving the party dedicatedly from dawn till dusk as an ordinary worker and would continue to do so with the same spirit and commitment.

The newly appointed BJP State President further asserted that if any challenges arise in the future, he is prepared to face them firmly and decisively. He also sought the continued support and cooperation of the party leadership and workers in carrying forward the party’s organizational activities across Tripura.
