The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, concluded his two-day visit to Manipur today, during which he reviewed the implementation of key urban development and welfare schemes in Kakching district.
On the second day, the MoS inspected houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) at Ward No. 7 under the Kakching Municipal Council and visited Salam Project Pukhri Achouba, rejuvenated under AMRUT 2.0. He also interacted with members of Self Help Groups under DAY-NULM near Leibaklei Gas and inspected the Moramba Solid Waste Management site under Kakching Municipal Council.
Tokhan Sahu further inspected the Kakching District Hospital and visited stalls set up by Internally Displaced Persons at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, showcasing crochet dolls and sanitary pads made by the IDPs. He also participated in a tree plantation drive at the DC Office Complex along with DC Kakching Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, SP Kakching Priyadarshini Laishram, IPS, and forest officials.
Earlier, the MoS was accorded a warm welcome by the district administration upon his arrival at the Kakching Mini Secretariat.
Accompanied by Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh, the MoS interacted with district-level officers, reviewed flagship programmes, and urged officials to ensure sincere implementation. He assured full support and reiterated the Government’s commitment to the overall development of the State.
