Motorbike Expedition: French Entrepreneur – Pierre Cornet Cross Borders To Reach Sikkim

Do you have the courage to travel from Europe to India on a motorbike? One will undoubtedly think twice, three times, or perhaps more, while the majority won’t even dare. But, the 36-year-old Pierre Cornet from France managed to complete the journey without difficulties during the last phase of the lockdown.

Cornet, whose business was severely hampered owing to the pandemic, commenced a motorbike journey from France after six months, crossing over 16 countries. Currently, the Frenchman arrived in Gangtok, the capital town of Sikkim.

Addressing the media persons, Cornet shared that the ride showcases the picturesque landscape and India’s rich diversity. So far, he has covered 36,000 km and 16 countries. He has currently arrived in Sikkim.

Pierre Cornet traveled by bike from France crossing other European countries and entered India via Pakistan. He has already traveled to Pakistan, and Nepal, among other countries.

While sharing his travel experiences, Cornet noted that road conditions are better in India. He has already traveled to Ladakh, Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and other states. He entered India via the Wagah border.

Besides, Cornet shared his upcoming plans to travel to other parts of Northeast India, starting from Assam.

He expressed gratitude towards the hospitality shown by Bhaijee Sherpa of Deu Damthang – the homestay owner, where Cornet stayed the first night in Sikkim.
