MP Bimol Akoijam Donates Seven Ambulances To Red Cross Society In Manipur

Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Member of Parliament from the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, handed over seven ambulance vehicles to the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch, on Tuesday. The ambulances were procured through his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund.

A handover ceremony was held at the Manipur State Branch office of the Red Cross Society at MG Avenue, Imphal. The vehicles have been allocated to the district branches of the society in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, and Bishnupur districts.

The ambulances are expected to bolster emergency response, particularly during highway accidents and natural disasters. Speaking at the event, Dr. Bimol Akoijam said the initiative is intended to support the Red Cross Society’s humanitarian mission by enhancing its capacity to provide timely medical assistance across the state.

The event was graced by Dr. RK Nimai Singh (Retd. IAS), Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West Y. Sher Singh, and Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur Pooja Elangbam, who attended as Chief Guest, President, and Guests of Honour, respectively.

In his address, MP Bimol Akoijam commended the dedication of Red Cross volunteers, acknowledging their relentless service to the community. He expressed hope that the ambulances would significantly strengthen the society’s emergency response capabilities and serve as a cornerstone for a more robust humanitarian support system in Manipur.
