The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) observed the 78th Death Anniversary of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi at Congress Bhavan, Imphal, paying rich tributes to the Father of the Nation for his enduring legacy of truth, non-violence and moral courage.
Speaking on the occasion, MPCC President Keisham Meghachandra Singh said Mahatma Gandhi’s life remains a living example of compassion, ahimsa and unwavering commitment to justice.
He noted that in today’s troubled times, Gandhiji’s ideals remind humanity that hatred cannot be defeated by hatred and that violence can never bring lasting peace. Reaffirming faith in Gandhian philosophy, he called upon people to work collectively towards building a society founded on peace, equality and mutual respect.
A press briefing was also addressed by Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Shri O. Ibobi Singh, who offered a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He reiterated the Congress Party’s unwavering commitment to Gandhiji’s timeless values of truth, non-violence, justice and harmony, stating that these principles continue to guide the nation even today.
The programme was organised by the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee at Congress Bhavan, Imphal, and concluded with a collective resolve to uphold and carry forward Gandhiji’s ideals.
