The Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) has rescheduled two papers of the Civil Services Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2022, after a printing error was detected seconds before candidates were set to begin the test.

Paper-IV (General Studies-III) and Paper-V (General Studies-IV), originally slated for November 9, will now be held on November 22, 2025. The error surfaced when invigilators opened the sealed question paper packets inside the examination hall and found that the heading did not match the content.

The commission explained that the mistake by the secured press escaped detection due to strict confidentiality rules. No MPSC official is permitted to view the question papers prior to opening in the exam hall.

The commission reiterated that confidentiality remains its top priority, even if it limits the ability to identify printing errors beforehand. It has also issued a strong warning to the secured press to prevent such lapses in the future.

A clarification notice signed by Controller of Examination Kh. Lalmani Singh on November 9 expressed regret for the inconvenience caused. The two-week rescheduling is expected to allow sufficient time for error-free reprinting and secure distribution of fresh question papers.
