In a coordinated enforcement drive, licences of 15 pharmacies in Niuland district were cancelled for violating rules requiring the presence of registered pharmacists. The joint inspection was conducted by the District Administration, Police Department, and the Chief Medical Office, Dimapur.
According to an official order issued by the State Drugs Control Administration, Kohima, the cancellations were made due to non-compliance with show-cause notices related to breaches under the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945, and the Pharmacy Act, 1948. Authorities stated that the step was necessary to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and safeguard public health.
