Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have agreed to carry out all developmental activities, including plantation drives, in the Disputed Area Belt (DAB) collaboratively, aiming to ease border tensions.
The agreement was confirmed in a statement from the Nagaland Chief Secretary’s office on Thursday, following discussions between the two leaders amid recent friction along the inter-state boundary.
The statement also noted that both states recently conducted a joint operation to remove illegal encroachments from the belt, reflecting their commitment to a coordinated approach in the sensitive region.
