Nagaland is expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms from August 16 to 19. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner and head of the District Disaster Management Authority, Dimapur, warned that heavy precipitation in the hill areas may lead to waterlogging, flash floods, and riverbank overflow in lowland and foothill districts, including Dimapur.

Residents have been advised to avoid rivers, streams, and other flood-prone areas as rising water levels could pose life-threatening risks.
