Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, visited Dhordo in Gujarat, recently awarded the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Best Tourism Village 2023.

The village, located near the India–Pakistan border, has transformed from a remote area into a model of sustainable tourism, strong infrastructure, and community-driven development.

Metha praised the leadership of Sarpanch Miya Hussain Gul Beg and highlighted Dhordo as an example for rural India in governance, transparency, and public–community collaboration.
