Kohima, Aug 2: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday inaugurated 13 futsal grounds and two multi-purpose halls in various parts of the state, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and youth development.
The Chief Minister said the newly inaugurated facilities go beyond serving as physical infrastructure and represent the government’s commitment to empowering youth and advancing sports development in line with the Nagaland Sports Policy. The policy emphasizes infrastructure creation, training, nutrition and welfare of athletes, talent scouting, and career development.
Rio also noted the growing achievements of sportspersons from Nagaland on national and international platforms, encouraging communities to make the best use of the new facilities to promote fitness, nurture local talent, and build a healthier and stronger future for the state.
