Kohima, Feb 18: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday inaugurated the JSW Women-Centric BPO, a project under JSW Shakti, launched in collaboration with the Investments and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN). The initiative aims to promote skill development, employment opportunities, and women’s empowerment in the State.

Speaking at the event, Rio said the State Government has been actively supporting women’s entrepreneurship, livelihood promotion, capacity building, and digital inclusion, enabling women to access dignified and sustainable employment.

“This Women-Centric BPO is an important step in empowering women. It provides a professional, technology-driven workspace for young women to build careers, develop skills, and achieve financial independence,” he added.

The Chief Minister expressed appreciation for Mrs. Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of the JSW Foundation, for her leadership in social development and extending the Foundation’s work to Nagaland, and hoped she would visit the State soon.

The collaboration between IDAN and JSW Foundation focuses on skills, technology, and employment, targeting underprivileged women to provide training and job opportunities, thereby empowering them economically and socially.

Rio also commended IDAN under the leadership of Abumetha for promoting investment and innovation in Nagaland and strengthening Brand Nagaland through partnerships and networking. He expressed confidence that the initiative would create jobs and inspire youth to leverage opportunities, assuring full government support for its success.
