Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, strengthening communication between the state leadership and the President’s office. The meeting was confirmed by the official X account of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The visit follows the passing of Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan on August 15, 2025, in Chennai. Dr. Rio paid homage to the late Governor, highlighting his integrity, wisdom, and dedication to promoting unity and development since assuming office on February 11, 2023.

La. Ganesan was remembered for his significant contributions to politics, literature, and governance. Leaders and dignitaries gathered in Chennai to honour his legacy.

Meanwhile, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been given additional charge as acting Governor of Nagaland, ensuring smooth functioning of the state administration, according to Rashtrapati Bhavan
