Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton on Monday inspected the Akash Bridge- Kanjang road under Meluri sub-division in Phek district.
The minister who is in-charge of Nagaland’s Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) directed contractors to complete the construction work of stretches which are earmarked under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) by March 2022.
According to a press release issued by Office of Deputy Chief Minister’s Media Cell, the road construction of 563 kms was identified by Nagaland government under the aforementioned scheme.

However, the ongoing projects should be completed prior to March 2022, so that new projects can be sanctioned as per the Ministry’s instruction to the state and the department, he underlined.
In order to complete the construction within the stipulated time frame, the Deputy Chief Minister urged contractors to put-in more workforce and machineries.
Its pertinent to note that Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Akash Bridge- Kanjang road is being executed by M/s Nagaland Steel Engineering.
