Kohima, May 14: Two jawans of the 78 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been praised for their selfless act of donating blood to save the life of a critically ill patient at Naga Hospital in Kohima on Tuesday.
The personnel, Hengoulal Khongsai and Bapina Maharana, voluntarily stepped forward to donate blood, earning widespread appreciation from hospital staff and the local community.
In a statement, the commandant of the battalion lauded their action, calling it a shining example of compassion and dedication to public service. “The selfless act of these jawans exemplifies the spirit of sacrifice and compassion that the CRPF stands for,” the statement said.
The 78 Battalion CRPF has been actively involved in civic action initiatives across Nagaland, including organizing medical camps, assisting during natural disasters, and supporting local youth.
Reaffirming its motto “Service and Loyalty,” the CRPF stated that its personnel remain committed to both protecting and serving the communities in which they are deployed.
