The Nagaland government has announced a seven-day state mourning in honor of Governor La Ganesan, who passed away on Friday evening. The mourning period is being observed across the state from 16 to 22 August.

During this period, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast on all buildings where it is regularly displayed, and no official entertainment events will be held.
