The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) launched its first Digital Rate Board on 17th November 2025 at New Market, Dimapur, aimed at providing real-time pricing information to customers and improving transparency in market operations.

The inauguration was led by Chairperson Hukheto Yepthomi, with an invocation by Pastor Rokothozo Sophie of KBC. CEO Thungchabemo Tungoe highlighted the Council’s commitment to modernising public services, noting that digital boards installed at three locations Supermarket, New Market, and Murki Pati will be expanded to other areas. He emphasized that the boards will display daily rates, category-wise pricing, and other essential information in a clear format, promoting fairness and accountability.

Neingutoulie Kenguruse, Convenor of the Market Review Committee, said the initiative will help consumers access accurate price information and allow business establishments to advertise at minimal cost, generating revenue to maintain and enhance the boards. He also urged shop owners to decorate their premises during the upcoming festive season to improve the city’s appearance.

Chairperson Yepthomi stated that the project reflects DMC’s goal of improving public convenience through technology-driven solutions and expressed hope that the digital boards will prevent overpricing and assist residents in making informed purchases.
