Nagaland Education Minister Stresses Preserving Indigenous Heritage Amid Technological Progress

Kohima, Aug 9: Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, emphasised the importance of preserving indigenous heritage while embracing the challenges of rapid technological advancement. Speaking at the ‘Development of Education in North Eastern India Exhibition’ held on Friday in Kohima, the minister acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and the National Archives of India for their ongoing work in promoting and documenting India’s diverse cultural histories.

During his address, Temjen Imna Along emphasized the significance of traditional Naga knowledge systems, particularly the Morung-based education, and urged the need to document the discipline and values upheld by their ancestors. The exhibition, organized by the National Archives of India in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Nagaland, will be open to the public at the Capital Convention Centre until 15 August.
