The Nagaland government is in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transfer the half-constructed multi-disciplinary sports complex (MDSC) in Dimapur to the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio informed the state assembly today while addressing questions on delays in the project. He stated that the MDSC, spread over more than 64 acres, was initiated in 2005-06 with an initial cost estimate of ₹60.57 crore and a proposed seating capacity of 30,000.
The move aims to expedite the completion and operationalisation of the sports facility under the supervision of SAI.
