Nagaland Govt Files Review Petition in Supreme Court Over RMSA Teachers’ Pay

The Nagaland Government has filed a Review Petition in the Supreme Court challenging its May 20, 2025 order upholding the Guwahati High Court’s directive to grant scale pay to the 2016 batch of RMSA Graduate Teachers.

In a press release, the School Education Department clarified that the teachers were recruited contractually under the Centrally Sponsored RMSA scheme.

To address the ongoing impasse, the government also held discussions with the aggrieved teachers were briefed on the legal developments and assured that the government will abide by the final verdict of the Supreme Court. Teachers were urged to resume their duties while awaiting the outcome of the Review Petition.
