Nagaland Police, in collaboration with the Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR), organised a one-day sensitization programme on child rights and protection at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Kohima on Friday.
Chairman of NSCPCR, Alun Hangsing, emphasised the crucial role of police in safeguarding children and ensuring a secure environment. He said the presence of police provides a sense of security and serves as a key pillar in shaping the future of society.
Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, commended the Commission’s initiatives and underlined the importance of awareness, noting that many children are still unaware of their rights. He stressed that educating communities is essential in preventing crimes such as abuse, neglect, and trafficking.
