Kohima, Jun 6: Nagaland Power Minister KG Kenye on Thursday virtually inaugurated the 1 MW Ponglefo Small Hydro Project at Salomi Village in Kiphire district, reaffirming the state’s commitment to harnessing all available clean energy sources.
Speaking at the event, Kenye said Nagaland would continue to explore solar, bio, hydro, and other renewable energy avenues to ensure sustainable development. Calling the day a significant milestone, he dedicated the project to the people of the state.
Emphasising the importance of energy in national progress, the minister stated that a country’s development is measured by its capacity to generate, manage, and export energy. He also highlighted Nagaland’s rich natural resources and stressed the need to effectively utilise this potential for long-term energy security.
