The Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association 2016 batch has strongly criticized the Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland for appealing to teachers to remain patient while a review petition is pending before the Supreme Court. The association claims that the government is using the review petition as a delaying tactic to deny their rightful service benefits.

The teachers have been waiting for over nine years for benefits including the ROP 2017 pay scale with annual increments, recognition of service from the date of appointment in 2016, and parity with counterparts of the 2010-13 batch.

According to the association, the Gauhati High Court ruled in their favor on March 16, 2022, and the Supreme Court upheld the decision on May 20, 2025. However, the government has yet to implement the court’s directives.
