Nagaland has been allocated 10 model schools under the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme and 23 new hostels to enhance educational support for tribal students.

The announcement was made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi during the fifth anniversary celebration of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The initiative aims to upgrade selected government schools with modern facilities and transform them into centres of excellence. The hostels are intended to improve access to education for tribal students, particularly those from remote and underprivileged areas.
