Kohima, Nov 11: The Department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) convened a preparatory meeting on November 10, 2025, at the DC’s Conference Hall in Chümoukedima to review arrangements for the upcoming Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025-26.
The meeting, chaired by Director of YRS, Kethosituo Sekhose, was attended by convenors and co-convenors of the Organizing Committee and Functional Area Committees. Key issues related to accommodation, security, reception, and technical arrangements were deliberated to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima, Polan John, described hosting a national-level tournament in the district as both a privilege and a challenge, urging all stakeholders to work in coordination for the successful organization of the championship. SDO(C), Chumbenthung Murry, was appointed as the Nodal Officer representing the District administration.
The championship, one of Nagaland’s major national sporting events, will be held at Chümoukedima Football Stadium from November 18 to December 11, 2025, featuring 16 participating teams. The meeting also saw participation from officials of the Youth Resources and Sports Department, Nagaland Football Association, District Administration, DPRO Dimapur, and other dignitaries.
