National Awardee for Persons with Disabilities, Temsutola Jamir, has received a special invitation to attend the prestigious ‘At Home Reception’ hosted by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan during the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

Jamir was conferred the National Award in 2022 under the Hearing Impaired (Female) category for her exceptional contributions towards the empowerment of persons with disabilities, particularly in the fields of sports and education.

Currently, she serves as a resource teacher for the Deaf under the Samagra Shiksha programme in Chümoukedima, where she provides home-based education to children with hearing impairments who are unable to attend regular school.
