NEP Aims To Strengthen Primary Education Base In Tripura : Education Minister – Ratanlal Nath

Agartala, November 18, 2022: Inaugurating the “Nipun Tripura” website and its logo in Agartala city, Education minister Ratanlal Nath on Friday said that the National Education Policy – 2020 has been launched to strengthen the foundation of primary education to educate the future generations through quality education.

The inauguration programme of “Nipun Tripura” website and logo along with Mission Mukul and Vidyasetu Modules took place at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here in Agartala city on Friday noon. These are dedicated to improve basic reading and mathematical skills of children aged 3 to 6 years as per the guidelines of “National Education Policy-2020”.

Addressing the gathering, Education minister Nath said the scientific “National Education Policy – 2020” has been launched in the country with the combination of nationalism and modernity. The objective is to strengthen the foundation of primary education to educate the future generations of the country in quality education.

He said that the state government is moving ahead with the idea of “read to learn, learn to read” as a permanent goal for the development of the state’s education system because only education can take the country and nation to the peak of development. Therefore, the current government has given maximum emphasis on education.

The “Nipun Tripura” aims to enable all children to acquire linguistic and mathematical skills by the end of third grade by 2026-27, i.e. to make children proficient in reading and counting. Anganwadi Kendras will be coordinated with schools through “Mission Mukul”. Consequently, the children of the Anganwadi Kendra will get a basic idea about school education before they go to school. Already 21 Anganwadi Kendras have been linked with various neighboring schools.

In the event, the Education minister also said that the results of all the reforms that have been carried out to change the education system of the state in the last four and a half years will definitely be seen in the education sector of the state after 7-8 years. He said, in accordance with the current times, teachers should create the realization of education in a friendly environment with students because it is the teaching society that makes the next generation eligible to build the state and the country.

In this programme, Secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education department Abhishek Singh, Secretary of School Education Department Sharadindu Chowdhury, Director of SCERT Nripendra Chandra Sharma were present.

The Director of Pre-Primary Education department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee gave a welcome address on the occasion. Various district education officers, officials of various levels of social welfare and social education department, head teachers and teachers of various schools were present on the occasion. On this occasion, a documentary film and “Nipun Tripura” promotional film were screened on the programme.
