The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Research and Development Cell of Manipur University and the Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), organized a National Workshop on Leadership Development for deans, heads of departments, and senior faculty from universities across the North Eastern region.
The workshop was held at the VC Court Hall of Manipur University and was presided over by Prof. Shashikala Wanjari, Vice Chancellor of NIEPA. Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University, attended as the chief guest, while Prof. Prabhakar Laishram, Director of MIMS, and Prof. Aarti Srivastava, Head of DHPE, served as guests of honour.
- The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Director of the Research and Development Cell, Manipur University, and Dr. Sangeeta Angom, Programme Coordinator from NIEPA, who served as organizing secretaries.
In her keynote address, Prof. Shashikala Wanjari emphasized the importance of inclusive education and quality enhancement, stating that effective leadership and collaborative efforts are essential for institutional growth and academic excellence.
Speaking as chief guest, Prof. N. Lokendra Singh highlighted that such workshops play a vital role in developing leadership skills, fostering inter-departmental cooperation, and improving academic administration. He also stressed the pivotal role of senior faculty under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in promoting research, innovation, and mentorship among students.
The workshop featured interactive sessions and panel discussions led by NIEPA faculty and resource persons from various universities across the North Eastern region, providing a platform for sharing insights on effective academic leadership and institutional development.
