The Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog, Suman K. Bery, arrived at Bagdogra Airport on Tuesday on an official visit to Sikkim, scheduled from January 13 to January 16, 2026.

Mr Bery is accompanied by his spouse, Maitreyi Suman Bery, and NITI Aayog Member Prof. Ramesh Chand. The delegation is visiting the state to attend the “Frontier State Development Workshop: Focus on North East.” During their stay, they will participate in official meetings and programme-related engagements related to development planning and policy initiatives for frontier and North Eastern states.

On arrival, the dignitaries were received by Sharmistha Pradhan, Additional Secretary, Home Department, Bagdogra Unit; Sonam Zangpo, Assistant Director and Liaison Officer; Awkwanama Subba, Under Secretary, Home Department, Gangtok and Liaison Officer; along with officials from STDC and TIC, Bagdogra Unit.
