Agartala, March 26, 2026: The Legal Aid Society of National Law University Tripura organized a compelling nukkad natak titled “Jago Grahak Jago – Humara Haq, Humari Awaaz” at Ujjayanta Palace on Tuesday, aiming to spread awareness about consumer rights and encourage citizens to stand against unfair trade practices.
The street play, staged under the guidance of faculty advisor Dipika Jamatia, attracted an engaged audience and effectively communicated key consumer issues through relatable, real-life scenarios. The performance depicted common challenges such as the sale of expired goods, overcharging, and online fraud, highlighting the importance of vigilance among consumers.
The act also emphasized the six fundamental rights guaranteed under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. A courtroom sequence in the play illustrated the process through which aggrieved consumers can seek justice and compensation, reinforcing the message that every grievance—no matter how small—deserves attention and redressal.
Blending impactful storytelling with slogans and audience interaction, the nukkad natak delivered a strong message urging people to stay informed, assert their rights, and raise their voices against injustice.
The initiative reflects the Legal Aid Society’s ongoing commitment to promoting legal awareness and empowering the community through creative outreach programmes.
