Agartala, August 30, 2025: The National Law University, Tripura (NLUT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences (TIPS), Agartala, marking a major step towards bridging legal education and medical sciences.

The agreement seeks to encourage academic interaction, curriculum reform, joint student projects on medico-legal issues, as well as faculty and student exchange programmes. It will also promote collaborative research to deepen understanding of medico-legal challenges and their societal impact.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, NLUT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Pratap Singh said, “This collaboration will provide students of both institutions with opportunities for cutting-edge research, experiential learning, and knowledge-sharing, equipping them to tackle emerging challenges in healthcare law, bioethics, and medical jurisprudence.”

Echoing this view, the Principal of TIPS expressed optimism that the MoU would enrich paramedical education by integrating legal awareness into healthcare training, thereby strengthening the professional skills of future medical practitioners.

The partnership, officials said, reflects a shared commitment to innovation, quality education, and social responsibility, paving the way for impactful contributions at the intersection of law, medicine, and public policy.
