Agartala, October 18, 2025: North Tripura District has been recognized as one of the five best-performing districts in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), an initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

President of India Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious award to District Magistrate Chandni Chandran at a ceremony held today.

In a post on Facebook, the North Tripura District Administration expressed pride over the achievement, stating, “Honoured to receive the award from the Hon’ble President of India, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu. This recognition is a testament to the excellent work done by the DWO, BDOs, and all line departments under the guidance of the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura.”

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs honoured Dhamtari (Chhattisgarh), North Tripura (Tripura), Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh), Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand), and Navsari (Gujarat) for their exemplary implementation and performance under the PM-JANMAN program, which aims to ensure holistic development of tribal communities across India.
