Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia has stated that the Northeast has become the growth engine of India. Speaking to the media on Friday about the one-year achievements of his Ministry, Scindia highlighted the region’s development over the past 11 years.

He noted that the number of airports in the Northeast has increased from nine to 17, while the total length of national highways has risen from 10,000 km to 16,000 km.

The Minister emphasized various initiatives aimed at unlocking investment and growth in the region. He said a commitment of ₹4.48 lakh crore was secured during the Rising North East summit held in May this year. Under the Ashtalakshmi Darshan program, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, around 3,200 students from across India will visit the Northeast for cultural immersion.
