Kohima, Mar 21: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has demanded that the Nagaland government terminate 109 allegedly illegal appointments across 16 state departments within 45 days.

In a formal communication to the Chief Secretary, the NSF stated that these positions were filled without public notifications, in violation of recruitment procedures set by the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) and Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC). The appointments included contractual, ad hoc, and temporary hires that were later regularized without following due process.

The departments cited include Nagaland State Transport, Public Health Engineering, Sericulture, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Food & Civil Supplies, Information & Public Relations, Urban Development, Taxes, Industries & Commerce, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Economics & Statistics, Law & Justice, Agriculture, Water Resources, Public Works, and Land Records & Survey.

The NSF expressed concern that the alleged irregularities are restricting fair employment opportunities for educated Naga youth. The federation urged immediate action and warned that failure to act within the specified timeframe could affect the prospects of candidates pursuing legitimate recruitment channels.
