Olympic Day was observed today at the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium in Imphal, organised by Manipur Hockey to commemorate the founding of the modern Olympic Games.
The global event marks the establishment of the Olympic Games, which were first held on June 23, 1894, in Paris, France.
The observance in Manipur saw the presence of MLA Govindas Konthoujam, Thangjam Arunkumar, and Manipur Hockey’s Life-time President Ksh. Thoiba Singh, along with other dignitaries and officials.
As part of the celebration, a hockey exhibition match was played, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and promoting Olympic values among the youth.
