Agartala, November 24, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday underscored the need to deepen awareness among younger generations about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s pivotal role in integrating the nation after Independence, stating that knowledge of his legacy remains inadequate among many youths.
Addressing the gathering after flagging off the Sardar@150 Unity March from the Circuit House in Agartala, Saha said that the national observance of Patel’s 150th birth anniversary seeks to bring focus to “his unparalleled service and commitment to building a united India”. As part of the initiative, schools and colleges across the country have been organising debates, discussions and awareness programmes.
The Chief Minister informed that he will visit Gujarat on November 25 to participate in a Padayatra dedicated to Sardar Patel and noted that leaders from all states have been invited to join the event. He added that discussion forums will be held at various points along the route and cautioned that attempts to weaken national unity continue to emerge and must be vigilantly countered.
Saha also highlighted the Tripura government’s employment initiatives, asserting that over 20,000 jobs have been created so far during the present administration. He assured that more employment opportunities will be rolled out in the coming months.
The Unity March witnessed participation from students, youth groups, and social organisations.
